Kids Yoga

In December 2019 I graduated The Elbowrooms Fantastic Children's Yoga Training Course. I have been teaching kids yoga ever since in Hot Yoga Dublin & Yoga Next Door.

I am also available to teach yoga in Primary schools, Secondary schools and childcare facilities. Learn more.

Teaching Yoga and Mindfulness to kids is both a joy and a challenge! The trick is to adapt the traditional practice of Yoga enough to make it fun and engaging for children while retaining all the good things that make Yoga so beneficial – Movement, Breathwork, relaxation etc. Classes will often include songs, dance, creative movements, games, story-telling and creative names for the poses depending on the class theme.

The children are encouraged to think about and develop such personal qualities as respect,
compassion, bravery, kindness etc. We also encourage positive body image and help to build
children’s self-esteem and confidence. Classes are non-competitive – we practise yoga simply for the joy of it – this can be especially beneficial for sensitive children and those who do not enjoy competitive sports. Children with additional needs are welcomed and catered for.
