Hatha Yoga

The word Yoga means to ‘yolk’ or ‘bind’. Yoga is about harmony of body, mind and spirit. On a deeper level it can be about revealing our true connection to mother nature and the universal consciousness.

Hatha Yoga refers to a set of physical exercises known as postures or asanas. This is the Yoga that most of us are most familiar with in the western world. The Yoga poses are designed to unblock energy channels in the body and let energy flow freely. Hatha Yoga is a powerful tool for physical and mental transformation. It is different from other forms of exercise because the movements in the body are connected to the breath, and this in turn helps to quieten the fluctuations of the mind. It then becomes like a moving meditation.

My mission is to create a strong sense of community and acceptance in my classes, so that everyone feels like they are already enough. I aim to guide my students to experience and enjoy the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga on a deep and personal level……..with a healthy dose of humor and fun thrown into the mix
